Sewing Machine Operator

Surestaff is immediately hiring for sewing machine operators for an apparel company in Wheeling, IL. As a sewing machine operator, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, switching between tasks quickly when needed, and operating sewing machines. Surestaff is invested in their team members! All direct hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($19/hr) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Available shifts include: 7:00am-3:30pm.

Responsibilities of the sewing operator:

• Complete given orders efficiently and cleanly during daily shifts
• Follow specified company policies and processes as directed
• Meet or exceed given quotas for the day
• Re-threading machine, replacing needles, and winding bobbins
• Perform general machine maintenance such as cleaning and small repairs

Required qualifications of the sewing operator:

• Previous sewing machine experience is desired (at least 1 year)
• Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
• Ability to sit or stand for long hours throughout shift depending on the given task
• Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of some English preferred
• Works well in a team environment
• Ability to lift to 10 lbs.
