Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Sr. Data Analyst, People Analytics is to deliver high quality HR data, reporting and analysis support for the HR function. This role will partner with Olympus colleagues across HR and other corporate functions to design reports, translate the data into key areas of action and identify data audit and process improvement opportunities to continually improve the value of HR data. The incumbent will perform a variety of analytical tasks including but not limited to: standardized and ad-hoc report generation, data analysis and trending, process automation, and system auditing and testing. This individual serves as an HR data steward and translator across HR and ensures operational excellence in data analysis, reporting, and process efficiency.

Job Duties

  • Analyze data, reports, and dashboards and provide summaries highlighting areas of opportunity and risk for the leadership team.

  • Work with stakeholders to gather business requirements. Design and build reports and dashboards to deliver insight to HR team and business leaders.

  • Conduct ad hoc and project analysis and prepare presentations of findings.

  • Drive operational excellence in the HR by identifying process or workflow inefficiencies and process improvement opportunities. Create increased efficiencies through building automated solutions and process workflows to streamline.

  • Identify and document system deficiencies and recommend and build solutions.

  • Support and maintain scheduled reporting, including manual distribution, troubleshooting and support for automated delivery

  • Conduct regular quality control activities to assure accurate data and processes. Ensure data integrity for all HR processes and programs. Develop and promote data integrity through audit processes and resolution of data discrepancies. Assist in creating and revising standard practices as discrepancies are resolved.

  • Create and maintain required operational regulatory and legal compliance related reports such as the annual EEO-1 Veterans and Affirmative Action reports.

  • Analyze data to recommend process and customer service improvements, innovative solutions or policy changes that add increased value and efficiency to the organization.

  • Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation related to the data maintenance and reporting solutions.

  • Train clients on reporting functionality, data dashboard navigation, and building stories with data.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Partner with regional Talent Management teams and Regional/Global HRBPs to address skill gaps, support upskilling/reskilling initiatives, and enable career mobility

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree is required preferably in human resources, business administration, or management.

  • With a Bachelor's Degree: minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics, process automation, project management or human resources is required

  • With a Master's Degree: minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics, process automation, project management or human resources is required.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI required).

  • Experience with RPA (robotic process automation) tools (Power Automate required).

  • Demonstrated experience with cleaning and analysing complex data and presenting to high levels of leadership required.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications particularly advanced Excel knowledge.

  • Acts as a champion for HR data quality accuracy and maintenance.

  • Excellent customer service capabilities and demonstrated high level of responsiveness.

  • Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff including senior leadership.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to independently use data and analysis to convey findings and recommendations to all levels within the organization.

  • Demonstrates learning agility in working with new complex business problems and to provide innovative value added solutions. Develops original work in response to business needs.

  • Flexible innovative with the ability to quickly adapt as business needs change.

  • Able to maintain productivity and positivity during times of change and potentially difficult business challenges.

  • Ability to execute assignments or projects with excellence, minimal supervision or rework, and resulting in high degree of accuracy and early/on-time delivery.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills detail oriented and ability to prioritize.

  • Ability to effectively implement the strategy of the People Analytics team.

  • Demonstrated ability to find, research, and develop creative solutions to analytical problems making use of spreadsheets databases and graphics.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, lead projects and work independently. High degree of professionalism.

  • Cooperate and participate as an effective team member in creating a positive working environment.

Preferred:

  • SuccessFactors Employee Central or SAP HCM strongly preferred.

  • Advanced education or certification in data analytics, such as certificates or coursework in data analytics.

  • Experience with programming tools (R preferred).

  • Understanding and experience with advanced analytical techniques and concepts.
