Job Description

The  Hilton Garden Inn Mystic/Groton  is hiring a Public Area Attendant (Houseman) responsible for assisting in guest room and public space operations of the hotel.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members and guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Assist guests with any miscellaneous requests with a sense of urgency.
• Clean public spaces with attention to detail including dusting, mopping, vacuuming.
• Uphold the hotel’s and brand’s standards of operations and service score expectations.
• Complete various projects assigned by leadership.
• Assist with stripping rooms and trash removal.
• Stock supplies and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Act as a “runner”, delivering guest items, such as rollaway beds, towels and other amenities.
• Walk the property using a guest’s perspective to identify areas of opportunity.
• Report and/or actively addresses any cleanliness and maintenance concerns promptly.
• Assist in other departments as necessary.
• Attend and engage in team meetings.

Skills

• Be an outgoing and welcoming personality for the Hotel.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and frequently adjust accordingly.
• Stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
• Use hands to lift, carry or pull objects that may be heavy.
• Make decisions based on your own judgment and company policy
• Follow instructions without supervision.
• Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent stooping, kneeling, reaching and lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs

Holidays and weekends required.
