Job Description and Duties

The Staff Psychiatrist provides telepsychiatry services to all assigned clients such as diagnoses conditions, prescribes medications within the scope of medical staff privileges and professional license. The incumbent attends and participates in monthly Psychotropic Drug Review meetings and perform written/ telephone psychiatric consultations including second opinions for Canyon Springs clients at the request of residence physicians and psychologists. Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance or the Board of Osteopathic Examiners and One year of experience in the practice of psychiatry or completion of one year of an approved residency in psychiatry.

Effective October 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three (3) percent in exchange for five (5) hours per month of the Personal Leave.
