Assistant Secretary For The Primary School

Cleveland Public Schools is seeking an innovative and qualified individual to join our family. We are a school that prides itself on creating opportunities and giving students hope through education. Our focus is to find creative ways to develop and foster 4 key characteristics in students: Ability to Hope and Dream for the future. Critical Thinking Skills. Technology Skills. Knowledge necessary to achieve students' individual dreams. This position would be fostering these 4 principles through assisting staff members with a variety of areas.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist visitors to the office, including students, parents, substitutes teachers, and others.
  • Answers telephone calls, and provide information and assistance to callers.
  • Assist students with daily inquiries and needs.
  • Assists in maintaining student and school documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
  • Assists in maintaining inventories of supplies and materials for the purpose of ensuring items' availability.
  • Distribute incoming mail appropriately; sends outgoing mail.
  • Responds to inquiries from students, parents and employees, providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications
  • Ability to problem solve job-related issues.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
