Position Overview :
The Cannabis Packager will be responsible for accurately weighing, packaging, labeling, and sealing cannabis products in strict compliance with Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) laws and regulations, as well as FDA standards where applicable. This role is vital in ensuring that all products meet quality and safety standards, providing consumers with safe and compliant products.
Las Vegas-based workers will be provided motel stay and travel stipend to cover fuel costs for weekly trips to Caliente location. Regular schedule is Monday - Wednesday each week for about two months.
Key Responsibilities: - Accurate Packaging: Precisely weigh, package, and label cannabis products (flower, edibles, concentrates, etc.) in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Nevada CCB regulations.
- Labeling Compliance: Ensure that all packages are correctly labeled, including mandatory information such as product name, weight, cannabinoid content, lot number, expiration date, and other details as required by the CCB and FDA.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all packaging activities, ensuring batch numbers and product tracking are compliant with the METRC system and state regulations.
- Quality Control: Conduct visual quality checks to ensure all products are free of defects, contaminants, and meet company and regulatory standards prior to packaging.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow Nevada CCB and FDA standards for handling, storage, and security of cannabis products, ensuring all practices support consumer safety.
- Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and regular sanitation practices in accordance with CCB and FDA guidelines.
- Packaging Equipment: Operate and maintain packaging equipment such as scales, sealers, and label printers, ensuring all machinery functions properly and is regularly cleaned and sanitized.
- Sanitation: Keep the workspace clean and organized, following Nevada CCB sanitation guidelines and FDA standards to maintain a hygienic environment for product handling.
Qualifications: - Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Cannabis Establishment Agent Card: Ability to obtain and maintain a Nevada Cannabis Establishment Agent Card issued by the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB).
- Must have a valid NV Cannabis Production Agent Card
- Experience: Previous experience in cannabis packaging or a similar regulated packaging environment is preferred.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with Nevada CCB laws, the METRC system, and FDA guidelines related to product safety and labeling.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
Working Conditions: - Work is conducted in a regulated cannabis production facility with varying temperature conditions.
- Must be comfortable handling cannabis products and adhering to CCB and FDA regulations.
