Key cutting, master keying, maintaining proper documentation; installing and removing cylinders

Years of experience required: 5 years

Years of experience preferred: 10

Physical working conditions: Standing or sitting in the same location; may require to stoop, climb or lift light material (10 lbs. or less) or equipment.

Environmental working conditions: Indoor/outdoor areas with potential exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 35 years of professional locksmith experience, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting.
• Strong knowledge of master key systems, cylinders, and commercial door hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret keying charts, hardware schedules, and construction plans.
• Valid NYC locksmith license
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders, lifts, and in mechanical spaces.

Preferred:

• Experience working in a hospital, university, or similar multi building environment.
• Experience with life safety door hardware (delayed egress, fire rated doors, ligature resistant hardware).
• Certification(s) such as ALOA, CPL, CIL, or institutional locksmith training.
• Knowledge of electronic key organizing system such as SimpleK

Strong problem solving skills, especially under time sensitive conditions.

Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non technical staff.

Education

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (G. E. D.)

Preferred: Certifications/Licensure related to position

Knowledge of Corbin Russwin and Medeco systems
