Role Description
Artist J LLC is looking for a skilled on-call embroidery operator to support production on a Happy Japan 4-Head commercial embroidery machine . This role is ideal for someone with experience running multi-head embroidery machines who can step in during production runs or peak demand.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate and monitor a Happy Japan 4-Head embroidery machine
• Prepare garments for production including hooping, stabilizer selection, and thread setup
• Load and run embroidery jobs from production files
• Monitor stitching quality and make thread or tension adjustments as needed
• Perform thread changes and troubleshoot minor machine issues
• Inspect finished garments for quality and accuracy
• Maintain a clean and organized production workspace
• Assist with routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance
Qualifications
• 2+ years experience operating commercial embroidery machines (Happy Japan, Tajima, Barudan, or similar)
• Experience working with multi-head embroidery machines
• Knowledge of stabilizers, thread types, and garment hooping techniques
• Strong attention to detail and production quality
• Ability to work independently and manage embroidery runs efficiently
• Strong Communication skills for teamwork and problem-solving
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accuracy
• Knowledge of embroidery techniques, and machine embroidery software is a plus
• Prior experience in a production or textile-related role is highly desirable
• High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications
• Direct experience operating Happy Japan embroidery machines
• Familiarity with embroidery production workflows in apparel decoration
• Experience working with digitized embroidery files
