Ascension is seeking a dedicated ER Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department, providing compassionate, high-quality emergency care to patients in a fast-paced clinical environment. As part of one of the largest non-profit healthcare organizations in the U.S., you will support Ascension’s mission of compassionate, personalized care across our network of more than 2,600 sites of care. You will work in a compassionate and patient-focused environment that values diversity, inclusivity, and continuous learning, while encouraging innovation and personal growth for both staff and patients. In this role, you will assess, triage, and monitor patients presenting to the Emergency Room with a wide range of urgent and emergent conditions, using strong clinical judgment and critical thinking to quickly identify priorities of care. You will initiate and manage IV therapies, administer medications in accordance with provider orders and hospital protocols, interpret EKGs and vital trends, and provide direct nursing interventions such as wound care, support during procedures, and continuous patient monitoring. You will collaborate closely with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other members of an interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, evidence-based care. The ER Registered Nurse will provide clear, compassionate communication and education to patients and their families during high-stress situations, advocating for patient safety, comfort, and dignity at all times. You will maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, adhere to infection prevention and control standards, and follow all departmental and hospital policies, including EMTALA and other regulatory requirements. This position requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 emergency services. Ascension offers a community-centric environment with access to leading-edge medical resources, ongoing professional development, and ample learning opportunities. As an ER Registered Nurse, you will be encouraged to pursue continuing education, specialty certifications, and internal career growth paths. You will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, participate in staff huddles and debriefings, and support a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement. In return, you will benefit from a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, retirement savings options, and programs that support your wellbeing, career advancement, and long-term professional goals.
