Job Description

Resort Lifestyle Communities is seeking a compassionate and dependable Cook to join our Food & Beverage Operations team within our senior living community. In this role, you will contribute directly to the comfort and well-being of our residents by preparing high-quality, nutritious, and appealing meals in a warm, hospitality-focused environment. You will be responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to standardized recipes and menu plans, with close attention to seniors’ dietary needs, portion control, and special diets such as low-sodium, diabetic, or gluten-free options. Working in our Hospitality & Travel–oriented community setting, you will support a restaurant-style dining experience by ensuring timely meal production, attractive plating, and courteous interaction with residents and guests. You will maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe kitchen that complies with all health department regulations and internal policies, including proper food storage, labeling, temperature monitoring, and rotation. You will collaborate with the Dining Services Manager, servers, and other cooks to coordinate meal service and accommodate resident feedback and preferences. This position involves assisting with menu preparation, inventory checks, and receiving and storing food deliveries, as well as reducing waste through careful planning and portioning. You will follow all safety procedures, including proper use of kitchen equipment, knives, and cleaning chemicals, and you will promptly report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns. In keeping with our culture of compassion, inclusion, and enriching the lives of older adults, you will interact respectfully with residents, demonstrating patience, dignity, and friendly communication. You may occasionally support special events, holiday meals, and community gatherings in partnership with the Resident Activity Coordinator to help create vibrant, community-driven experiences. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a commercial kitchen or high-volume food service environment, strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety, and the ability to work efficiently during busy meal periods while maintaining quality standards. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including some weekends and holidays, is important to support our residents’ needs. This Cook role offers the opportunity to build meaningful connections with residents while contributing to a positive, team-oriented workplace dedicated to exceptional senior living.
