Our Upper Manhattan & the Bronx division is committed to supporting families with exceptional, relationship‑focused educational services. Key Responsibilities Provide one‑on‑one academic tutoring in core subjects (Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and/or Foreign Languages) Support students with homework, study skills, executive functioning, and test preparation Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs and assessment results Track student progress and provide regular updates to families Foster a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment Travel to students’ homes (Upper Manhattan and/or the Bronx) or conduct virtual sessions Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or teaching certification preferred Strong subject‑matter expertise in at least one core academic area Prior teaching or tutoring experience (classroom, private tutoring, or small‑group instruction) Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners Excellent communication and organizational skills Reliable transportation (for in‑person tutoring assignments) Authorized to work in the United States What We Offer Competitive hourly compensation Flexible scheduling Ongoing professional support Meaningful, long‑term relationships with students and families Schedule & Availability Tutoring sessions typically take place: Weekday afternoons and evenings Weekends (as needed) Tutors create schedules based on their availability and student demand. Work Location Upper Manhattan and The Bronx (in‑home and virtual options available) Requirements A qualified applicant will have a bachelor’s degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria: You hold a valid NY State teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof You are a current student teacher; pursuing a teaching certificate You have 2 or more years experience as a classroom teacher in a private or charter school.
